J. Company’s reported online catalog features a photo of the house’s president and inventive vice-president painting her 5-year-old son’s toenails neon pink. Accompanying the photo is the heading “distinction in unison a all the same” and a recite from Jenna Lyons: “Fortunate for me, I ended up with a boy whose favorite color is pink. Toenail painting is way more fun in neon.”

Is this exactly harmless fun and games, a portrait of a shared beneficial jiffy between mommy and son? I think you could take it that way. Or you could also study it as a affirmation. That’s one psychiatrist’s take on it.
